A SHOW 2023

A Show is a big concert in the stadium, abstracted from the whole situation, enclosed in the space of the gallery. The work refers to Kryński’s earlier productions, i. e. concerts or performances in which he himself stood on stage, now he changes his perspective. presented experience is an analysis of the relationship between the performer and the spectator. The space of the gallery is subjected to a process of acoustic and choreographic transformation. The concert is treated here as a special place of contact between artist and audience - interdependence and community. The focus is on a small part of a larger situation where the singer sings in a crowd of his fans. It emphasises the ephemerality of the moment and stretches it over time. The show consists of two parts taking place simultaneously throughout the space. Basically, the first part is the spectator, the second part is the performer. These situations interpenetrate and enter into a dialogue, complementing each other on different levels, allowing us to express the character of the concert and to look critically at the performance as well as watching it. It depicts the dynamics and movement within the tissue of the experience itself.
